Kinja'd!!!

Tomorrow I begin my first semester at Ball State University studying journalism, yet I spend most of my time wondering if there are any decent roads in the area.

If you happen to be familiar with Central Indiana and know where to find some good roads, please feel free to let me know. My GTI and I would both appreciate it.

My wife’s cousin went to Ball State.

You’re about four hours from me (I live in Western Kentucky). I was thinking it was closer than that. :-/

There are amazing roads in Northeastern Kentucky. That’s where my car club has cruises a lot.

I remember my senior year of high school, when I was being flooded by pamphlets in the mail* from colleges, I looked at the one from Ball State and wondered if they did anything other than football.

* see, “pamphlets” are these things “printed” on “paper”, and sent through the “mail” which is a thing where “people” take “paper” things and “deliver” them to “you.”

There are none. You should drop by C&C at Gator Motorsports, on the north side of Indianapolis, before it’s out of season.

Join SCCA, according to their website, Ball State is in Indianapolis Region (#13) and here’s their own website with events including autocross on September 18th!

Go a bit south to have fun. If you go anymore north it's flat and straight. You're area is kind of a crapshoot though.

Last time I was there there was also a warehouse that had an H&R Block sign on it lit up at 2 am. Little did I know the warehouse is owned by a notorious drug kingpin and my white 21 year old self should not have been in that area of town at that time of night.

I'm from Elkhart and I had to go into Michigan to get some really decent roads.

Normally a pretty good turnout?

I can believe that. I've noticed people that aren't from Indiana believe all of Indiana is flat like up north. However once you make it my way the roads gist and turn quite a bit. There's a reason Porshe car clubs and many others like to visit our local hotel.

Transfer to IU and drive around brown county? All kidding aside, I have no idea. My parents live in Anderson and all the roads around there are flat as a pancake.

If you’re out zooming around, please keep an eye out for cyclists. There are a lot of road cyclists out in that area (my Dad being one of them).
